During times of uncertainty, there is an essential truth that gives us hope – that we can do extraordinary things together. At ZLC, we are very proud to support our community and we actively look for ways to give back. Because of the global pandemic that we are all experiencing, some of our local non-profit organizations are struggling to raise funds to maintain their activities, so we decided to join a special initiative this year, called #GivingTuesday, to elevate the attention to the importance of supporting non-profit organizations of our local community.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 with a simple idea in mind: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the years, it has grown into an international movement that inspires people around the globe to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Learn more: givingtuesday.ca
As our contribution to this amazing initiative, we’ve donated $1,200 to a cause close to our heart, A Better Life Foundation. Last year, members of our team cooked up and served a delicious meal for members of our community who are food insecure. This year, due to the pandemic, we couldn’t repeat the action, but we are donating to this cause as a way to help them to continue their vital work. Supporting their program, Plenty of Plates, is our way to bring real-life change to those most in need and our way to prove that we can still make an impact even during a global pandemic. In addition to this involvement, ZLC encourages our team to get involved in making a difference all year round. Aside from this donation, ZLC helped our local communities by donating over $155K this year through sponsorships, direct donations, flow-throughs, and events.
At ZLC we dedicate our time to serving our valued clients to grow and preserve their wealth. We are also painfully aware of the many in our community who tragically have nothing at all, and see it as our duty to do our bit to support those in need.
